The Chronicle August 2009
13th Lark in the Park 'Whilst Bexley Council deprived the Sidcup community of its annual circus by hiking their prices to occupy Sidcup Place it was good to see the churches in Sidcup organising the thirteenth Lark in the Park. It was bigger and better than ever before enjoyed by thousands of youngsters and the elderly alike. The weather held for most of the time and the organisers confirmed that the event was really to see how churches work in a practical way in the community and leading youngsters by example.'

Pioneer - Libary of Lives Issue 13 "SAVIOUR OF SUBURBIA"
It was ambitious. Let's have some fun to draw people to the gospel. The origins of Sidcup's Lark in the Park were almost embarrassing; a tent, some music and a few events. Now it's another story, our correspondent checked it out...

'Faithworks'
During Lark in the Park 2008, 'Faithworks' magazine editor Lucinda van der Hart came to visit us to find out about Lark in the Park and to write an article for the magazine.
The article is written over 4 pages and speaks about the history of LITP, the changes we have experienced and the impact we have made on our community. There is also an interview with Paul Weston. The magazine is now available, if you want to read the article it can be bought in any Christian Bookshop for £3.
Bexley Voluntary Service Council recently wrote an article about Lark in the Park in their magazine "Spotlight", read here what was written:
"Lark in the Park held their annual fun fortnight in Sidcup Place in July/August and a record number of visitors enjoyed their jam-packed programme designed for all ages. This is the twelfth year people from local churches and surrounding areas have given their time for freee to enrich the community and this year, along with 1,500 other U.K. locations, Lark in the Park participated in Hope 08, a national church initiative aimed at delivering one million hours of kindness across the country.
More than 300 volunteers helped to deliver a wonderful selction of excellently planned activities including dance workshops, kids and toddlers clubs, the WorX Bux Project plus arts and crafts. Parents and carers were included in all the fun and there were opportunities for awareness raising workshops, arts and crafts for
grown -ups, an over 60's zone with bingo, quizzes, music and refreshments, or just to sit in the sunshine and enjoy the entertaines on the outdoor stage. There were also Park Pastors available to chat with, and a peaceful Chapel in which to pray, or just sit and think. The entertainment contined with a variety of evening events for families and all ages, such as local bands, talent, acoustic and quiz nights as well as a Candelit Couples Night. A wonderful time was had by all, and it was made even more accessible as the huge majority of these events were free! The event was hosted by the New Generation Church and supported by Avery Hill Christian Fellowship, Christ Church, Emmanuel, Foots Cray Batist Church, New Community Church, Sidcup Baptist Church, St Andrews (Albany Park) and Churches Together in Sidcup."
